Kendal English School Joins the Commemoration of Bernardo O’Higgins’ Birthday

Kendal English School was honoured to receive an invitation from the Municipality of Las Condes to attend a special commemorative ceremony at the Military School, celebrating the birthday of General Bernardo O’Higgins, one of the founding fathers of our nation and a central figure in Chile’s history.Representing our school community, Teacher Jorge Aravena, together with members of the Kendal Student Council, proudly attended this meaningful ceremony, sharing with other members of the community a moment of respect, remembrance and deep appreciation for our country’s history.This occasion allowed our students to experience firsthand the importance of honouring those who dedicated their lives to the freedom and construction of Chile. With pride and respect, our students represented the values of Kendal English School, demonstrating civic responsibility, respect for our traditions and a genuine love for our homeland.At Kendal, we believe that educating our students means not only developing academic excellence and global competencies, but also nurturing responsible citizens who understand their history, value their heritage and contribute positively to their community.We are especially proud that our students had the opportunity to participate in this important national commemoration and to celebrate the legacy of Bernardo O’Higgins with respect, gratitude and patriotic spirit.

Kendal English School celebrated Arts Day

Kendal English School celebrated Arts Day, a special occasion dedicated to creativity, artistic expression and the active participation of our entire school community.From 10:00 to 13:00, our students had the opportunity to explore different forms of art and showcase their talents through a variety of engaging activities.Among the highlights was the “My Favourite Artist” Characterization, where students came dressed as artists, musicians, painters, actors and actresses who inspire them, allowing creativity and imagination to take centre stage.The school also hosted the Kendal English School Voice Festival, featuring talented students from both the Middle School (5th–8th Grade) and Senior School (9th–12th Grade).Another meaningful activity was the “My Identity” Painting Competition, inviting students to express through art their interests, culture, dreams and personal vision of the world.Our Living Pictures brought famous works of art to life as students recreated them through body expression, costumes and scenery, connecting with artistic heritage in a creative and participatory way.Students also enjoyed a variety of Art Workshops, where they experimented with different techniques and explored new forms of visual expression.At Kendal English School, we believe that art is a powerful way to discover who we are, express what we feel and connect with others. Arts Day was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate creativity, diversity and the unique talents that make our community special.
